Why a transcript builder?
Each university contracted with this company needed a slightly different set up for their students transcripts since they wanted to build journeys specific to the tract the student was in. My task for this project was to create a wizard like workflow to choose which info was displayed to be able to create custom templates.
This was the starting point to create the custom templates
The first step for a user was to choose the info that went into the header. We include a multi select and display the meta as little chips that can be moved around and deleted as needed.
This was something I really liked, the user could get a tiny preview of the context they were being asked to build. Its a small thing but it made me happy.
Here the user could control which cards were included in the profile. Again a similar set up to the header but with the ability to drag the cards with a handle.
The second to last step in this process was adding widgets. Something I really enjoyed about this wizard is the SVG icon for the steps showing an active state based on the location you were adding info.
This is a place where the gooee experience really came in handy. The element team implemented a conditional system where you could set parameters on the profile based on Profile and User Type. Super cool stuff.
Results
Here is what ended up being created. The Header. Sidebar and Widgets chosen would transpile into a full profile page. Some of the illustrations were custom created in illustrator to create a more fun less sterile overall feel.
